Baseball sweeps St. Clair in weekend series

Jets baseball won big this weekend, sweeping St. Clair County CC in a four-game series! The Jets are 18-14 overall, 10-3 in conference play.

Saturday, 4/13

Jackson College 10, St. Clair County 0: The offense got healthy with a pair of 10-0 wins at home Saturday. Mitchell Smith finished with four hits and three RBIs. Jared Kramp and Harry Major both finished with two hits for JC. Kramp hit a home run for the Jets. Ethan Ianni earned the win striking out seven batters in 4.1 innings.

Jackson College 10, St. Clair County 0: Marcus Patton finished with two hits and three RBIs and Logan Christophel added two hits and an RBI from the eighth batting spot. Nathan Tappenden allowed two hits and struck out four to earn the win. The Jets are now 16-14 overall for the season with the win. JC travel to St. Clair County Community College Sunday for a make-up doubleheader.

 

Sunday, 4/14

Jackson College 2, St. Clair County 1: The Jets scored two runs in the third inning to pull ahead. Henry Major and Jared Kramp recorded double to knock in runs. Luke Micunek earned the pitching win for the Jets striking out seven batters in 4.2 innings. Sammy Bronkema pitched two innings of scoreless baseball in relief for JC.

Jackson College 11, St. Clair County 3: Harry Major, Jared Kramp, Gabe Jones, and Logan Christophel each had two hits for JC in the 10-hit attack. Major knocked in four runs and Kremp hit a home run. The Jets scored six runs in the fifth inning scoring its fourth win against St. Clair this weekend. The Jets are 18-14 overall, 10-3 in conference play. JC travels to Kellogg Community College Tuesday at C.O. Brown Stadium in Battle Creek for a doubleheader starting at 3 p.m.
