Heading into a new season after a landmark year that saw Jets women's basketball go all the way to National, the 2024-25 team is ready to start play Friday night against Bay College!
This year's Jets welcomes back seven players from last year's team and adds a sophomore transfer from Wayne State University, J'Ahni Walker, who at 6-foot-2 will add length to the floor. Eight freshman will round out this year's team.
"I am looking forward to starting our season, as we have worked hard this preseason," said head coach Heather Brown. "We have added new things to our program and look forward to seeing how we come together as a team.
The Jets have already added some new elements, scrimmaging some stronger teams early on. "Last year I think it hurt us not getting tested much early on. I think this will help us in the long run," Brown adds. On Friday, the Jets face the MCCAA North Co-Champions, Bay College, then Alpena on Saturday. The following week, the team heads to Illinois to face Triton College on Friday and Moraine Valley on Saturday.
"We are looking forward to a great season!"
