
Ocelots Plate 4 Runs In The 9th To Walk Off Jackson
DETROIT, MI- Looking to avenge their loss from the previous night, the Ocelots hosted the Jets for a MCCAA 9-inning game.
Following a 0-0 1st inning, Jackson would score 2 runs in the top of the 2nd while Schoolcraft would follow up with 3 runs in the bottom half of the frame. 2 of those runs would com home on a Hander Patino 2-out triple to right field, plating Ben Cannon (single) and Dalton Vance (walk). Issander Vega also had a triple earlier in the inning and came home on the Cannon single. Schoolcraft would score again in the 3rd on a Nick Bosilkovski sac fly bringing in Brady Sauer (single). Jackson would score once in the 4th and once in the 6th to tie the game before exploding for 4 runs in the top of the 8th to go up 8-4. Bosilkovski would ground out in the bottom of the 8th to bring home Sauer (triple) to slightly cut into the 4-run Jackson lead. Jackson would stand the bases loaded in the top of the 9th to keep their lead at 3. Schoolcraft would quickly load the bases in the bottom of the 9th as a Westfall fielders' choice would bring in the 1st run of the inning to cut the deficit to just 2. The next at-bat, Braylon Schroder would single to left, bringing home Patino (walk) and the following at-bat, Westfall would tie the game coming home on a wild pitch. Ben Cannon came to bat with 2-outs in the 9th and the bases loaded. On a 2-2 pitch, Cannon was hit in the foot bringing home the 4th run of the inning and walking the game off.
Schoolcraft logged 11 hits for the game, led by Issander Vega with 3-hits, including a triple and a double. Others logging triples were Vega and Sauer while McCann doubled, bringing the team to 5 extra base hits.
Owen Elsey got the start on the mound going 5 innings, allowing 2 earned runs and striking out 2. Lucas Clune got the win out of the bullpen, pitching the top of the 9th inning, stranding the bases loaded while registering 1 strike out.
