Cipolla Scores Two in Tribunes Debut, #11 Women's Soccer Defeats Jackson College 3-0

ROCHESTER, NY - The #11 nationally ranked Monroe CC Women's Soccer Program opened their Fall 2024 with a bang, defeating Jackson College (Michigan) 3-0 in front of a packed house at home.
For the Lady Tribs this game was their annual Women Supporting Women in Sport Match, which celebrates the history and implementation of Title IX. Monroe CC Athletics, Admissions, FYE (First Year Experience), and Dining Services all collaborated to make this event possible. Outside the Brighton Turf was a concession stand and pregame tailgate activites along with a crowd of 600+ community members and students supporting the Tribunes.
Monroe CC would strike first for etiher team, late in the first half Sam Cipolla (Rochester, NY) scored on a well-placed ball from Mallory Johnson (Rochester, NY) at 40:35.
The #11 Lady Tribunes would head into the half with a 1-0 lead
Cipolla would net her second goal of the match on a long shot from near the left corner flag the fell gracefully into the top left corner of the goal, just over the outstretched arms of Jets Goalkeeper Serenity Wiescziecinski.
At 80:35 in the second half the Tribs would tally one more goal, this time Sydney Anderson (Canandaigua, NY) scored her first goal of the season assisted by Sofia Martins (Lisbon, Portugal).
In total the Tribunes tallied 27 total shots, 19 of which were on goal
Returnig Goalkeeper, Clare Boesel (Palmyra, NY) recorded her first shutout of the season in 80 minutes of action, tallying one save.
