
Cougars Complete Sweep against Jackson College 7-1
In the second game of the doubleheader, the FCC Cougars' consistent offensive performance led them to a decisive 7-1 victory over the Jackson College Jets Varsity on Friday.
FCC Cougars wasted no time in getting on the scoreboard, as Bryce Curry's single in the bottom of the first inning brought in the game's first run.
They extended their lead further in the second inning, with Jake Holler scoring after tagging up, pushing the score to 3-0.
The momentum continued in the bottom of the third inning when Cam Jones's triple and Holler's groundout each added another run to the Cougars' tally.
Jake Crawford started the game and surrendered only one run over three and one-third innings while Joey Serafin provided solid relief pitching for FCC Cougars, throwing three and two-thirds innings without conceding a run.
Offensively, the Cougars had ten hits, with Will Gisriel leading the charge by going 3-for-4. Nick Varda, Josh Erd, Christian Cabina, Curry, Holler, Jones, and Gisriel each contributed one run batted in. FCC Cougars were speedy on the basepaths, stealing three bases throughout, while defensively turning one double play without committing an error.
With the win, the FCC Cougars are on a seven-game winning streak.
