
WBB recap with Jackson College
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Rachel Resio scored 23 points, Chloe Watson posted 17, and the 13th ranked Mid Michigan College women's basketball team defeated No. 20 Jackson College 89-73 on Wednesday (Dec. 4) night inside Morey Courts. The win moved the Lakers record to 7-2 overall, while the Jets (7-1) suffered their first loss of the season.
Resio recorded her third 20+ point game of the season, while Watson was in double figures for the seventh time this year. Resio also added four rebounds and five assists to the stat sheet.
Paige Ebels added 13 points for the Lakers, while Jiaryatou Cisse chipped in 10 points as four starters reached double figures.
Mid outrebounded Jackson 42-38, and also shot 46.9% from the field compared to the Jets who shot 39.5%.
The Lakers raced out to a 31-16 advantage after the opening quarter, however the Jets refused to quit and went into halftime down 51-39. Mid however held steady, outscoring Jackson in both the third and fourth quarters to come away with the victory.
Mid will hit the road for two games beginning Friday (Dec. 6) when they head to Macomb to take on the Monarchs at 1:00 PM. Following that contest the Lakers will have a week off before heading to Kalamazoo Valley on Friday (Dec. 13) at 6:00 PM.
