Offensive Woes Haunt Ocelots

JACKSON, MI – Needing a late season charge, the Ocelots were on the road at the #1 team in the MCCAA Eastern division, Jackson College.

Game 1 – Schoolcraft got on the scoreboard quickly, scoring a run in the top of the 1st. However, that would be all the runs Schoolcraft could manufacture for the game. The pitching would be impressive on both sides as the 2 unearned runs that Jackson would score in the bottom of the 3rd would be all they would need. Schoolcraft would have chances to plate runs but would fail to capitalize. Bryan Tuttle led the way with 3 out of the 7 Ocelot hits. Austin Smolenski got the start on the mound for Schoolcraft and would go 6 innings, allowing 4 hits, 2 walks and striking out 4 batters.

Game 2 – The offensive woes would continue for Schoolcraft in game 2. Once again, Schoolcraft would score in the top of the 1st, but that would be all they could get for the game. Things were going well for Schoolcraft until the bottom of the 6th when Jackson would score 7 runs. Schoolcraft could only get 5 hits for the game with 5 different Ocelots registering 1 hit.

The Ocelots will be back in Jackson on Saturday, as the home team due to the NFL Draft at the Corner Ballpark. The Saturday doubleheader has been pushed back to a 3:00PM start due to weather early in the day.
