Jets Softball Players earn post season awards

 

ALL MCCAA All- Conference 2nd team

#15 Kelsea Kaliszuk

Kelsea has proven her stellar athletic ability at the shortstop position this season. She finished the season with 115 assists which ranks #1 in MCCAA West and 15th overall in the NJCAA after regular season play. She turned 5 double plays, assisted in 11 runners caught stealing and accounted for 53 putouts. She ranks 1st in overall team batting average at .421, 31 RBI's and 14 doubles. Kelsea only struck out 8 times- proving that she was a difficult out in the line up.

Kelsea will continue her playing career at an undecided 4 year school.

 

All MCCAA All-Conference Honorable Mention

#22 Kayla Kormos

Sophomore Kayla Kormos has been a strong leader the past two years. This year she has pitched 193.2 innings which was 3rd overall in NJCAA and #1 in MCCAA after regular season play. Her ERA was 1.77 in conference with 104 strikeouts. At the plate she has the highest team batting average in conference .411 and .379 overall. Kayla will continue her playing career at Siena Heights University.

 

 

#23 Krystal Wirpio

Krystal has played almost every game at 1st base. She finished the year at 294 putouts which ranks her #17 in the NJCAA and #1in the MCCAA after regular season play . Her rank his behind many catchers. This is a great accomplishment at the 1st base position and proves her capabilities. Her fielding average was .980 and batting average is .351 overall. During her 2 years as Jet Krystal played in 87 games, earned 72 hits, 24 doubles, 50 RBI's and 4 home runs. Krystal will remain with the Jets program as a student-coach for the upcoming season.

 

 

 

#6 Savannah Sullivan

The only Freshman to receive MCCAA honors. Savannah played 2nd base and pitched. Her batting average was .315 overall including 19 runs, 40 hits, 13 hits for extra bases and 3 home runs. Savannah is a very versatile player who kept a lot of batters off balance in the circle throughout the season as she continued to grow and learn. Savannah also added 77 assists in the field. We look forward to Savannah returning for her sophomore season with the Jets!
