Softball team marks improvement in 2017

The Jackson College Jets women's softball team finished their 2017 season with their most wins since 2010, with a record of 19-24-1.

Six Jets softball players received conference honors, the most in the program's history since the return of athletics in 2007! They include:

• All-Conference 2nd Team: Savannah Young (shortstop, second base; sophomore from Westfield, IN), Desiree Morrison (outfield; sophomore from Jerome) and Ashley Ouellette (third base; freshman from Wyandotte)
• All- Freshman Team: Ashley Ouellette
• All-Conference Honorable Mention: Savannah Sullivan (shortstop, pitcher; sophomore from Grayling), Kylee Cochrane (utility; freshman from Brooklyn), and Mikala MacGeorge (pitcher, outfielder; freshman from Allendale)

The Jets softball team performed well in the classroom also, with a fall grade point average for the team of 3.27, the highest women's team GPA and the second overall team GPA. "We are looking to build on this success for next year and have set very high goals!" said coach Jamie Vandenburgh. "I am excited to see the program continue to grow and succeed!"
