Courtney Ivan enters her second season as the head women’s basketball coach for the Jets. Ivan, from Belleville, previously coached women’s basketball at Mercyhurst University in Erie, Penn. She also worked at Mercyhurst North East, a predominantly two-year program offering associate degrees and certificates.  Coach Ivan also serves as the Assistant Director of Housing for Jackson College.

Ivan was familiar with the area because her family has a vacation home in Brooklyn and she has visited the area on and off over the years. Knowing a little about the College, the diverse area, beautiful campus and opportunity to coach a community college team attracted her to the job. “Jackson College has been doing a lot of big things here, and I want to be part of that,” Ivan said.

She earned her bachelor’s degree in biology and fitness management from Olivet College, and a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership from Mercyhurst University.

“I am very excited for the opportunity to be the head women’s coach at Jackson College,” Ivan said. “I am looking forward to getting to know all the girls and helping them to be successful individuals on and off the court. I look forward to building off some successful years for the Jets team, and also bringing some changes to make it my own.”
